2024 Purdue Football Coaching Search - Tim Albin
Who Is He?
Tim Albin is the head coach at Ohio University. He’s been the HC since 2021. Prior to that he was an assistant under Frank Solich both at Ohio and at Nebraska, so he’s been around a while. He’s been very good at Ohio, compiling at 32-19 record with a 23-9 conference record. In the late ‘90s, he coached NW OK State to an NAIA championship and a 25-8 record overall.
Why would he be successful at Purdue?
He’s a guy who knows how to coach, what to do when things get challenging and can always call Old Man Solich for advice. He’s a program builder. Maybe not sexy, but you won’t have any more seasons where the staff looks like they’ve never watched a football game before.
Why could he flop at Purdue?
Limited time as the head man and never having been a HC outside of a smaller conference.
Would he come to Purdue?
One would think. At 56, how many more chances will he likely have to leap into the big time?
