In a Valentine's Night massacre, the Boilers cruise past Rutgers.
Couldn't justify giving BTN $10 more to watch Purdue blowout Norfolk State? Don't worry, I've got some blurry pictures from the game just for you.
Purdue won their first Crossroads Classic game by erasing a 17-point deficit against #21 Notre Dame. It was a pretty fun second half.
WE'RE BACK. Aneesh and Michael kick of the 2016-2017 season of the BS Basketball Beat talking about expectations for the incoming Purdue players, where Vince Edwards has gone, how incredible Caleb Swanigan is at the basketball, Carsen Edwards' fast start, Dakota Mathias' consistency, the shooting prowess of Carsen/Mathias/PJ Thompson/Ryan Cline, Isaac Haas disappearing after Cancun, and the return of Basil Smotherman.
All that, plus the losses against Villanova and Louisville, moral victories, whether this is Matt Painter's best Boilermaker offense, and the importance of the nonconference slate in the eyes of the committee (and the pressure on next weekend's game vs Notre Dame).
In Part 2 of the Boiled Sports BROHMcast, JMoney, Boilerdowd, and Aneesh talk about Purdue's moment of national relevance, fan expectations, whether Brohm is a great hire or the perfect hire, potential backup options (Calhoun, Moorhead, Spack) if Bobinski couldn't close the deal, roster holes and potential recruiting directions, and the 2017 schedule.
All that, plus how the coaching situations at IU and Purdue have switched, who truly caries the blame for the Boilermakers' current football predicament, and a PSA to all fake Jeff Brohm Twitter accounts.
J Money and Aneesh talk about Jeff Brohm (our top wishlist candidate) being hired by Purdue, and fan reaction to Brohm over "bigger names" like Les Miles and PJ Fleck. (Spoiler: Y'all dumb.)
Nathan Baird from the Lafayette Journal and Courier (19:00) joins BrohmCAST Part 1 to talk about the hiring timeline, Mike Bobinski landing his top candidate, Brohm picking Purdue over Cincinnati, Baylor, and Oregon, Purdue's new investment in football, holes on the roster, and expectations for 2017.
Follow Nathan on Twitter, @nbairdjc.
Who knows if Brohm's offense will ever live up to Tiller and Dicken's or Brees' "Basketball on Grass" moniker...but we might have some fun watching our Boilers throw it around and win some games in the near future.
Mike Bobinski and Co. have hired Western Kentucky's Jeff Brohm, BS' favorite candidate, to lead our Purdue Boilermakers into a future that hopefully includes some fun football Saturdays.
Danielle Cuttino led the high-flying Boiler volleyball team to a three-set sweep of Iowa State in Columbia, MO Thursday evening, eliminating the Cyclones 26-24, 25-21, 25-13. Purdue advances to face host Missouri Friday at 7:00 PM in a rematch of Purdue's second-round win in 2013 over the fourth-seeded Tigers; the match will be shown on ESPN3.
Purdue volleyball was one of eight Big Tenteen schools chosen for the NCAA tournament, which kicks off later this week. The Boilers will play Iowa State at 5:30 PM ET Thursday, with the winner advancing to meet either #15 Missouri or Northern Illinois at 7:00 PM ET on Friday.
Purdue volleyball split once again, winning 3-2 at Indiana for their ninth consecutive win over the Hoosiers and losing 0-3 at Penn State. The Boilers finish the regular season at Maryland Wednesday and Ohio State Friday before the NCAA tournament field is announced Sunday night.
The end is almost here...Boilers limp to Bucket following another thrashing.
Purdue barely beat Georgia State because of a halfcourt trapping zone and a cold outside shooting night. Does that sound familiar?
