RIP Commodore Hazell, 2013-2016.
The following list is a BS-endorsed selection of coaching candidates to lead Purdue's football program.
The candidates listed range from "will be mentioned in a board room meeting" to "LSD fever dream", but we thought having the names out in front of you would make life as a Purdue football fan in 2016 a little easier.
These are the guys the BS Crew would *love* leading Purdue into the football future. And then there's Bob Diaco, the best fit as a Morgan Burke-era "typical" hire.
These dudes aren't coming to Purdue, and even we can't pretend they'll be here.
Because it's too obvious, we'll be highlighting every single current MAC coach, starting with our top tier (PJ Fleck, his rowing accouterments) to the bottom (Paul Haynes, Hazell's successor):
Not all of 'em are old, but they've been hanging around the college football landscape forever (typical retreads). Some are realistic, some are borderline stretches:
The list of both head coaches and leading assistants that could bring an extremely interesting system to Purdue. Again, some will get likely consideration, and some are a borderline pipe-dream:
Extreme system coaching, FCS wizkids, and controversial retreads. Find your heart's desire of weirdness right here. Some of them are serious candidates, some are just for our own amusement.
Paul Johnson -- Bruce Barnum
Pete Lembo -- Jim Chaney
Brady Hoke -- Jeff Tedford
Dan Enos -- Ed Warriner
Jedd Fisch
Pretty self-explanatory. Keep visiting this page as coaches pop on and off the hot seat.
Mark Helfrich -- Dan Mullen
Derek Mason -- Brian Kelly
Greg Olsen -- Craig Bohl
If you like your coaching search in audio form, we've got you covered. J Money and Aneesh spend 90 minutes talking about every single coach mentioned on this page (and a few more, because when we do a coaching search we don't mess around).
