BS Bracketalysis: So Easy, a 5th grader can do it.
This time of year is fun for a bunch of reasons...but one of the things that makes it fun is the uncertainty and lil' surprises. Sure, the arbitrary metrics that change each year for the committee generally bite Purdue in the backside, but they generate conversation.
My son (LBD) and I sat down this morning to reassess the bracket that he put together a week ago; and there have been some changes. Duke's run, Oregon's injury and some early tourney losses shuffled the deck a bit, but generally, the top seeds stayed relatively steady during the last seven days.
Here are some of the things that our mini-committee looked at: How did a team play in the non-con? How did a team finish the season? What does their ENTIRE body of work look like (good wins and bad losses matter)? That third point is a biggin for our crew.
So here's where we the top-16 deserve to land:
#1 Seeds
Kansas, Villanova, Gonzaga, North Carolina
#2 Seeds
Duke, Arizona, Kentucky, Oregon
#3 Seeds
Louisville, West Virginia, Baylor, UCLA
#4 Seeds
Florida, FSU, Purdue, Cincy
Where'd we get it right...Where'd we get it wrong? Sound off.
