Several Boilers Nab Season Awards; BT Defensive POY Remains in West Lafayette

Some postseason awards were announced and a few Boilers picked up some hardware (do they get actual hardware? Not sure.).

I'll post the images from Purdue Athletics for the two seniors:

For the second straight year, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year plays his home games in Mackey Arena. AJ Hammons was simply dominant this year and is a big reason Purdue has been ranked all year and he is the guy who can put the Boilers on his back this month.

There are times when things like defensive POY are based more on reputation than reality but this doesn't feel like one of those cases. AJ was also noted as all-Big Ten first team and the all-defensive team. A nice sweep for the Hammonster.

Old Man Davis -- last year's conference defensive POY -- was also named to the all-defensive team, showing that even a hobbled RayDay is better than whatever you've got.

Caleb "Biggie" Swanigan was named to the all-freshman team and Aneesh's bromance partner (it's a one-way bromance) Vince Edwards was named all Big Ten honorable mention. A nice little portent of things to come for these two. Hard to imagine they won't be seeing more of these sorts of accolades.
